Policy objective 2
Close collaboration and interaction with academic and educational institutions should increase our and their knowledge and allows us to keep in touch with tomorrow’s job candidates. We share our knowledge by providing practical examples, and we are in turn keen to learn from these stakeholders.
Our objectives and practical examples
At least 1% is an intern
In every country with H.Essers sites, we collaborate with at least one educational institution: of the total number of permanent employees in each respective country, 1% is an intern.
University college and H.Essers develop logistics graduate course
In order to increase the chances of BSO students, PXL University of Applied Sciences and H.Essers are setting up graduate programmes as a bridge between vocational education and higher education. In 2019, 18 graduate programmes were integrated into PXL’s range of study programmes.
Blind spot training for trainees and students
Every year, an average of 50 blind spot accidents involving trucks and vulnerable road users occur on Belgian roads. In order to contribute to the safety of society, we focus on the development of blind spot training and offer it systemically to secondary and higher education institutions.
